Lessons
How long is a lesson? About five minutes, usually 7 questions.
What happens if I get one wrong? You’ll see the answer, and the question comes back at the end of the lesson until you get it. There’s no way to fail a lesson.
Can I redo a lesson? Yes. Tap any finished lesson on the map to practice it again.
Tracks
Pipwick has more than one path. First Steps walks through the big story of the Bible. Book Study: Mark reads a whole Gospel closely, passage by passage, for teens and adults. Tap the track name at the top left of the map to switch. Your progress, streak and XP carry over, and each track remembers where you are. Kids profiles stay on First Steps.
Already know the story?
Tap the flag at the start of any later unit on the map to jump ahead. You’ll answer 8 questions from the units before it. Get 7 right on the first try and those lessons are marked done, you earn 10 XP and your lamp is lit for the day. Their questions come back in Practice over the next couple of weeks. Didn’t pass? Nothing changes, and you can try again anytime.
Practice
Every question you finish comes back for review on a schedule: sooner if you missed it, later as you keep getting it right. When something is ready, the Verses tab shows a Practice button. A practice round counts for your streak.
Daily quests
Each day brings three small quests. Tap the scroll at the top of the map to see them. The first is always “Finish a lesson”; the other two change each day, like earning 25 XP or getting every answer right the first time. Replaying a lesson or passing a jump-ahead counts as finishing a lesson; a practice round is the one you start from the Verses tab. Finish all three for a bonus 10 XP. There’s no timer and nothing is lost if you skip one: new quests arrive tomorrow.
Streaks
Finish one lesson in a day to light your lamp. If you miss one day, your weekly rest day keeps the streak going automatically (one per week, Monday to Sunday). Miss more and your streak starts fresh, but your longest streak is always saved on your profile.
Widgets
On iPhone, add the Pip streak widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen: touch and hold an empty spot, tap Edit → Add Widget, and search for Pipwick. It shows your streak and whether today’s lamp is lit.
Bible translations
Pipwick shows the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) by default. Tap BSB at the top of the Bible tab to switch to the King James Version (KJV).
Reminders
After your first lesson, Pipwick asks if you’d like one gentle reminder a day. You can turn it on or off and pick a time in Profile → Feel → Daily reminder. If you’ve already done today’s lesson, there’s no reminder that day. Kids’ profiles never get notifications.
Sound and haptics
Turn sound effects or vibration off in Profile → Feel.
Your progress
Right now your progress is saved on your device. Accounts that sync across devices are coming soon. If you delete the app, your progress on that device is deleted with it.
Subscriptions
Pipwick Plus arrives with our App Store launch. It will be billed by Apple: to cancel or change your plan, you’ll open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancel during the 7-day free trial and you won’t be charged, and we’ll remind you 2 days before a trial ends.
